My friend, folk-musician Mikko got his potrait when he got graduated from Sibelius-Academy in October 2015. I filmed a video during his gig, chose a still foto with proper shadows on Mikkos*s face and draw an indian ink scetch, free hand. Then used a paper copy as a stencil and finalized the potrait with free hand on a black canvas. The following works are drawn with the same technique. Later I encouraged myself and drew second canvases of Mikkko, Mirva and Emilio free-hand, without stencil-phase. I happily realized, that they succeeded as well as the canvas-versions.
I drew a portait to my friend, folkmusician Mirva from my video of her gig "Pekko ja unissakävelijät" with the same techigue as above,
The gentler version is her favourite.
Mirva and Mikko
This potrait I drew to my friend, the conductor of our senior graffiti crew SixFive Crew, visual artist Emilio Mäkipää (now 21). I took a foto of Emilio at his vernissage at the Akkuna-gallery at Lasipalatsi, Helsinki in November 2015.
Last but not least, an Indian ink scetch to my friend, the best fysio in the world, Kaitsu, based on a foto, November 2015. The scetch acted for a while as his profile picture in FB.
Based of the sketch abow I drew the potrait below to my friend Kaitsu.
